Turbine power of all types should be in use all over the world, but especially here in the US. Hydro-turbines make especially good sense. My guess is that if we had turbines in all of the rivers in the US, we could supply more than 100% of the US's electrical needs with them exclusively. Harnessing the power of the ocean (and the moon, since its the reason for tides) would obviously produce many times more power.
