Default charge controller question

If I don't go over the watt rating of a charge controller can I connect more than one input?

Default Re: charge controller question

Yes, as long as you make sure that you haven't accidentally gotten any of the solar panel output wires reversed (which will double the input voltage to the charge controller on a 12V controller, or raise any other voltage by ~17V), it's fine. With large solar installs, though, you don't connect the panels directly to the charge controller. You connect them to what's called an array combiner, which also holds the fuses or breakers.

A watt saved is better than a watt generated, since it always costs less than 10% as much, and can cost as little as 1%.

V=volt, A=ampere, Ah=ampere hour, Wh= watt hour, VOC=open circuit voltage, ISC=short circuit current, VMPP=voltage @ max power, IMPP=current @ max power, BTW=by the way, your=belongs to you, you're=you are, too=in addition to, two=1+1, to=towards
