Default Rain Water Collectors

Out here in the AZ Desert water is like gold. Water prices keep going up and up.

In the past two years I have seen more and more Rain Water collectors on houses and business. I believe collecting rain water is a great way to save money and to help from sucking our water wells dry.

Here in Tucson we have the CAP (Central Arizona Project) that brings Colorado river water to Tucson. We pump CAP water into our local wells to keep some sort of water level in them. We have pumped our wells so dry that some places we have problems with the ground settling due to such low water levels.

Even with the CAP water we sometimes have real low water levels especially in the summer. I think making it mandatory for all new house's and business to have rain water collectors is a good ideal. If nothing else to use the rain water for landscaping. It would sure save a lot of that precious Desert water.

I've been saving up for a while so that I can install some rain water collectors at my house. Does anybody else have rain water collectors? And what do you use your rain water for?
