| | The Global Green Challenge See the Cars of the new generation. The Future. Here. Now.
The Global Green Challenge has evolved into a platform and testing ground for the next generation of vehicle technology.
Conceived out of the legendary World Solar Challenge that pioneered and promoted research into sustainable transport, electric vehicle technology has been developed to the extent that a solar powered car can carry its driver 3000km across Australia at an average speed of well over 100Kp/h average. Many of the huge iprovements in solar conversion, battery technology, low resistance tyres and electric ‘wheel’ motors, are finding their way into the new generation vehicles demanded by the motoring public. The Global Green Challenge event is a trial and exhibition of ecologically friendly vehicles through the heart of Australia’s iconic landscape.
Through its two constituent parts, the World Solar Challenge for solarcars and the Eco Challenge for production vehicles, the Global Green Challenge gives the world a sneak peek into the environmentally sustainable cars of the future.
Stretching 3,000km from Darwin to Adelaide, the Global Green Challenge puts technology, research, manufacturing advancement and sheer determination to the test as the cars of the future lead the drive towards a healthier future for the planet.
The Global Green Challenge comprises two categories:
The World Solar Challenge – for purely solar-powered vehicles
The Eco Challenge – for environmentally friendly production and experimental vehicles
Pre and post event public displays will be held in Darwin and Adelaide with an urban cycle for the Eco Challenge vehicles also to be conducted in the South Australian capital. An associated event will also be held in Alice Springs.
Join us in October by following the challenge online or en-route, and experience the adventure.

| | Re: Global Green Challenge The Country, The Route, The Adventure
The Global Green Challenge is run over 3,000 kilometers from Darwin to Adelaide - from tropical rainforests of the north, across the savannah country, through the gibber plains of the desert to the fertile coastal regions of the south.
It is a journey through Australia’s Outback, across a modern nation to the heart of an ancient land. One blessed with outstanding natural attractions, extreme contrasts and a unique indigenous culture over 60,000 years old. Global Green Challenge / Route Maps
